We want to share with you good news! A new project to work with women in Puno is underway, and is the Spanish bank’s “Caixa”, through the work of the “Caixa” Fundación Obra Social who funds it.
The “Caixa” is characterized by a strong social commitment and a clear vocation to work in the general interest, both through its Social Work as their financial activity. Not surprisingly, it has been recognized as the most valued company due to its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), according to the results of the Ipsos’ XIV edition of KAR study (2014). The study analyzes the economic situation and the CSR policies of the leading companies in Spain.
“Consolidating the economic enterprises of Aymara and Quechua artisan women weavers of Puno region” is the new project we undertake in order to strengthen from a gender and sustainability perspective, productive initiatives of artisan women weaving in Puno region, developing handmade products for different markets, improving revenue opportunities; and disseminating and exchanging good practices at local, national (Peru) and transnational (Spain) levels.
Movement Manuela Ramos (Peru) and the Spanish NGO Economists Without Borders implement this new project.
