The district of Santa Rosa de Mazocruz now has its own artisan shop located on the road to Moquegua.
The Mazocruz Artisan Shop, at 2050 meters above sea level, is the new point of sale inaugurated on March 28th in the district of Santa Rosa de Mazocruz-Puno, thanks to the interinstitutional agreement between the district municipality and Movimiento Manuela Ramos, through the Project : “Access to and Improvement of Economic Income of Quechua and Aymara Artisan Women in Puno”.
When the processed (spun and dyed) wool is finally used to make garments, products can be offered for sale with added value. As a result, the store will contribute to the economy of women and their families in the alpaca raising region of Puno. Thanks to its location on the main route to Moquegua, a road with a constant flow of traffic, it will have a more visible market presence.
The inauguration event was attended by the district mayor, who expressed his thanks to Movimiento Manuela Ramos for being the motor behind the artisans that drives them to move forward. On the same note, the artisans showed their contentment and promised to work in a coordinated and organized manner in order for the shop to succeed.
